Jazz Blue
In stock — slabs in the gallery
Dramatic blue-grey marble with strong white and charcoal veining. A statement stone for feature walls and vanity tops, supplied in large-format slabs.
Jazz Blue: the loud one
Blue is the hardest colour to find honestly in natural stone. Most “blue” marbles are grey with a cool cast. Jazz Blue is one of the few that genuinely reads blue across a room — a blue-grey ground cut by strong white and charcoal veining that runs in bold, directional strokes rather than a fine net.
What it looks like
High contrast and large scale. The veining is assertive enough that slab orientation becomes a design decision: run it vertically on a wall and the stone reads as movement; run it horizontally and it reads as strata. We supply in 6ft slabs specifically so that a feature wall can be done in fewer pieces with fewer interruptions.
Bookmatching
This is a stone worth bookmatching. Two adjacent slabs cut from the same block and opened like a book give you a mirrored pattern across the joint, and with veining this strong the effect is genuinely architectural. It has to be planned before cutting — tell us at selection, not at installation.
Where it works
- Feature walls in a living room or behind a bed.
- Powder-room vanities, where a single dramatic slab carries a small space.
- Fireplace surrounds.
Where we would steer you away
Not a whole-house floor. At that area the pattern becomes exhausting and, more practically, the strong veining makes any repair or replacement slab impossible to match years later.
Selecting it
Blue stone photographs badly — camera white balance shifts it towards grey or purple, and no screen will tell you the truth. This is one where you have to stand in front of the slab. The gallery at Maradu holds the current lots under neutral lighting.
